It Begins

I'm not quite vomiting, and won't bother pulling the trigger since I know it's not coming from my stomach, but I've begun to experience the joys of progesterone blood poisoning. I feel perpetually hung-over with nowt to do about it but eat pomes (apples and/or pears) and try to stay hydrated. Peppermint tea is nice. Moaning and whining helps a little.

The smell of OPF (other people's food) is so not helping.

  1. my big 1st trimester gag reflex triggers were from the allium family. also, anything smelling even vaguely like a grilled cheese sandwich or burrito. safest bet: baked chicken legs, potatoes, and maybe a little salad with simple dressing.

  3. I ate mostly pancakes my first trimest. I lost like 6 pounds on that carb diet, with the puking and all. Literally carried plastic bags with me just in case I was out couldn't make it to a corner or bush or toilet.

After 3 months, the morning sickness will subside. It really is magic. Good luck!

  4. If it gets really bad, and it did for me with my 2nd, get yourself some seas sick bands. They go around your wrists and apply pressure to accupressure points. Helped me a lot. And my boobs hurt so bad I had to wear a bathing suit top in the shower because the water felt like razor blades...Ahh the memories! So worth it though!

  6. Oh yes, bland and not smelly is the way to go. I think I lived on baked potatoes and ginger ale when I had m/s, and even that made me run dry heaving to the kitchen sink.

Equally offensive was brushing my teeth, way hard to do without wanting to puke.

This, too, goes away around 12ish weeks, and then you are done paying your knocked up dues:)

    It'll fly(ish) by:)

  7. This morning it seems to be fine, but the only thing that sounded good was chicken-flavored ramen for breakfast.
